A Few Simple Thoughts For this Week

I really am going to try to write here more often... Maybe a weekly post if I can keep it concise? Here are some thoughts I have reflecting on this past week.

1. It's hard to be consistent. It's even harder to be a consistent parent. If my kids could just be more consistent, it would make my job much easier! Praying for consistency in my parenting, and for my eyes to be opened to my inconsistencies, because I swear they sneak up on me.

2. Making sourdough bagels that have the texture of bagels is much harder than I thought it would be. Luckily, I have an abundance of starter and the will to figure this out. Hopefully it won't take the 6 months it took me to perfect my sourdough bread recipe. (Amy, you will get some of the next batch, I promise!)

3. Dave and I accomplished something big this week: we actually painted a room in our house! It only took a little over 4 years for us to change some of the universally neutral paint that was in our house when we bought it, but the hall bath now has a different (though still not colorful) look from the rest of the house!

Maybe I'll work on being profound next week...
